Sweet potatoes are not provided with the recipe. They must be purchased separately.
Sweet potato or yam preparation: cut 3 - 4 lb of sweet potatoes into 3/4 inch cubes. Place the sweet potatoes on a cooking pan and cook in the oven at 350 F for 30 min or until softened. 3 - 4 lb of canned sweet potatoes (non-spiced) may be used instead. The sweet potatoes are added with the grains during mashing.
